Priorities

All students and families need to feel welcome at our schools- reducing absenteeism and increasing student academic success. Many of our families need additional translation services to ensure they can engage in support of their students.

I will advocate for increased pay and benefits for our professional educators and staff. I will also support policies that prevent micromanagement or fear in the classroom.

I will advocate forpolicies that reduce turnover of school administrators and teachers, increase professional development, especially for reading instruction, and provide more opportunities for our students, educators, families, and our community to take ownership of our schools.

I will promote policies to ensure students are safe getting to and from school, to harden our buildings against reasonable threats, to provide mental health resources for our students, to allow time for educators to develop relationships with their students, and to oppose policies that arm teachers.
